Our founders, Ian, Dan, and Jason, came together online during the pandemic, when most everyone was feeling cut off from one of the most important things in life: human relationships. The idea and the groundwork of making an EHR started years before the lockdowns and isolation. However, the mission to make a private practice tool with a heart, one that focuses on the client relationship as much as the nuts and bolts of running a mental health practice, began during this time. We believe that there's a mental health crisis within our society that we're all affected by. We feel the best way for us to serve that cause is doing what we do best to help mental health professionals like you do what you do best.
Psychotherapy depends upon science, but it must be rooted in ethics. If psychotherapy doesn't entail veracity, client autonomy, fidelity, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice, it falls short of what people need. Our technology company follows a similar approach.
At our core, we make decisions from an ethical perspective meaning decisions are made (or not made) because it's the right thing to do. Some examples of this are making our product friendly for LGTBQ+ people, thinking deeply about how the user-interface can make our product easier to use, and taking extra steps to listen deeply to your needs and respond with care.
We aim to communicate truthfully with you from the start. If you ask for something and we believe we can provide it, we will tell you. If we don't think we can, we'll tell you that too. We have nothing to gain from just telling people what they want to hear.
We aren't trying to trap you into a business relationship with us. We aren't going to make decisions knowing it will harm our customers. Something we're already doing that distinguishes us from other EHRs is grandfathering in price increases. We aren't going to suddenly raise the price on you to satisfy shareholders. We aren't going to treat you like a transaction.
To the best of our ability, we will do what we say we will do. Our company mottos aren't empty slogans, we really think about how to make your job easier and how to build an EHR that actually helps with the therapeutic relationship.

We recognize that all types of people are in therapy. We want to make a product that helps to foster healthy therapeutic relationships with people of all walks of life.
